Rob learned to make wine the old-fashioned way, totally hands on.
Rob learned to make wine the old-fashioned way--hands on, starting as a cellar rat in 1996, guided by longtime friend & mentor John Abbott at Canoe Ridge Vineyard, followed by 4 years as cellarmaster at Woodward Canyon. Several courses later at WSU & UC Davis, Rob became the Washington State winemaker for Corus Estates & Vineyards from 2004 - 2010. Rob grew up in a strict Seventh Day Adventist household, and alcohol was forbidden. He now considers himself a 'Recovering Adventist', enjoying a glass (or bottle) of wine every day. Rob is majority owner & Chief Fermenter for Thirsty Pagans.
